The Foundation for the Management of European (EU) Lifelong Learning Programmes (LLP) was founded after the decision of 64.892 of the Council of Ministers, dated the 17th of January 2007, and was registered at the Associations and Institutions Governor on the 30th of March 2007, with register number 263. The Foundation for the Management of European (EU) Lifelong Learning Programmes is being directed by a Board of Directors with nine members, which is appointed by the Council of Ministers. The first Board of Directors was appointed after the decision of 62.012 of the Council of Ministers on the 7th of February 2007. The operational costs of the Foundation for the Management of European (EU) Lifelong Learning Programmes are covered by funds that come from the European Commission and the Cyprus Republic through the Planning Bureau which, according to the decision of the Council of Ministers, 64.597 of the 9^th of November 2006 was determined as a National Authority for the LLP. The main occupation of the LLP is the management of the funds that are granted in Cyprus from the European Commission for the attendance of the Cypriot Beneficiaries in European Education and Training Programmes. The LLP manages the European Lifelong Learning Programme with its four sectoral programms, COMENIUS for School Education, ERASMUS for Higher Education, LEONARDO DA VINCI for Professional Education and Training and GRUNDTVIG for Adult Education, as well as the STUDY VISITS programme, for Education and Professional Training executives, that workes in the framework of TRANSVERSAL PROGRAMME, the Lifelong Learning Programme. Also, at the activities of the Lifelong Learning Programme, the management of the programmes EUROPEAN LANGUAGE LABEL, BOLOGNA PROMOTERS and eTWINNING are included, which are also included in the European Lifelong Learning Programme. In the aims of the LLP is also included the promotion of the objectives and policies of the European Union, in the fields of Education and Professional Training, as well as the promotion of the objectives and policies of the Cyprus Republic in these fields. Promoting the above objectives is successful through:

• Providing information to the public about the European education/training programmes and about the relevant policies
• Subsidy of mobility of individuals towards other countries for training purposes
• Encouragement of people from all ages for attendance to LLP, including people who belong to minority groups
• Exchange of good practices in the educational/professional fields between the countries that take part in the LLP
• Distribution and treatment of the results of the LLP
